Snap n' Sell Privacy Policy
A plain-English summary of what data Snap n' Sell collects, what it does with it, and the controls you have over it.
The short version
Snap n' Sell helps you generate marketplace listings from a photo. To do that, the app needs to:
- Know who you are (sign-in), so your listings are tied to your account.
- Receive a photo from your camera or photo library so we can analyze it with AI and generate a listing.
- Track how many listings you've generated today, so we can enforce a small daily limit.
We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps. You can delete your account and all associated data from inside the app at any time.

We do not collect: contacts, location, browsing history, your other photos, IDFA, or any analytics about how you use the app beyond what's listed above.
3. Permissions the app requests
- Camera Required to take photos of items you want to sell. Used only when you tap "Take Photo".
- Photo Library (Add Only) Optional. Lets the app save a listing photo back to your Photos when you tap "Save Photo to Library".
- Photo Library (Read) Used only when you tap "Choose Photo" to pick an existing image. We use Apple's modern photo picker, which means we never get access to your full library — only the specific photo you select.
4. Third-party services we use
Snap n' Sell relies on the following services to function. Each link below is to that service's own privacy policy.
- Firebase Authentication — manages your sign-in. Firebase Privacy
- Sign in with Apple — when you choose this sign-in option. Apple Privacy
- Google Sign-In — when you choose this sign-in option. Google Privacy
- Firebase AI Logic + Google Gemini (via Vertex AI) — generates the listing from your photo. Photos are transmitted to Google for inference. According to Google's Vertex AI data governance, prompt content is not used to train Google models and is not retained for ongoing access.
- Firebase Firestore — stores your account record (
users/<uid>: plan tier and Apple subscription identifiers) and a daily usage counter keyed to your device (dailyUsage/<device>: date + count). - Firebase App Check (App Attest) — verifies your app installation is genuine.
- Apple StoreKit / App Store — handles purchases and renewals for our subscription plans (Plus, Pro, Max). Apple processes payments and gives the app a receipt confirming your active plan. We do not see or store your payment method, billing address, or other Apple account details. Apple Privacy
5. Data retention and deletion
What stays on your device
Your listings and their photos live only on your iPhone. Sign out doesn't delete them. They sync across your devices only if you've enabled iCloud backup at the system level.
What stays in the cloud
Your authentication record (email, display name, UID) sits in Firebase Authentication, and your account record (users/<uid>: plan tier and Apple subscription identifiers) sits in Firestore. Both persist until you delete your account. A daily usage counter keyed to your device (dailyUsage/<device>: date + count) also persists — see the note under "Deleting your account." Your subscription itself is held by Apple; we store only the identifiers needed to confirm your plan.
Deleting your account
Open the app, go to the Me tab, and tap Delete Account. This will:
- Delete your Firebase Authentication record (email, display name, UID).
- Delete your account record (
users/<uid>) from Firestore, including your plan tier and stored Apple subscription identifiers. - Delete every item in your local "garage" and every photo file the app stored on your device.
The device usage counter (dailyUsage/<device>) is not deleted. It is keyed to your device rather than your account and cannot be traced back to you — it holds only a date and a number. We retain it so the daily free-listing limit can't be reset simply by deleting and recreating an account, and it is overwritten automatically each day.
Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. We cannot recover deleted data. If you have an active subscription, deleting your account in this app does not cancel it — manage and cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions.
6. Children
Snap n' Sell is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed in, contact us and we'll remove the account.
7. International users
The app's backend infrastructure is hosted by Google Cloud, primarily in the United States. By using Snap n' Sell, you understand that your data may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where Google operates.
8. Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you can at any time:
- Sign out (Me tab → Sign Out) to stop the app from communicating with your account.
- Delete your account and all associated data (Me tab → Delete Account).
- Revoke camera or photo library access from iOS Settings.
- Email us at [email protected] to request a copy of the data tied to your account.
9. Security
All network traffic between the app and our backend services is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Access to data in Firestore is governed by Firebase security rules, and every request to our backend is verified with Firebase App Check and your signed-in credentials.
That said, no system is perfectly secure. Use strong account credentials and enable two-factor authentication on your Apple or Google account.
10. Changes to this policy
If we materially change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
